There is a Tortoise. He is small and green. He walks very slowly.
There is a Hare. He is big and fast. The Hare laughs at the Tortoise. “You are so slow!” says the Hare.
The Tortoise looks at the Hare and says, “Let’s have a race!”
The Hare laughs louder. “You can’t win, but OK! Let’s race,” he says.
The Fox counts, “One, two, three, go!”
The Hare runs very fast. Soon, he is far ahead. “This is so easy,” he thinks. “I can rest for a while.”
The Hare sees a tree. He lies down under the tree and falls asleep.
The Tortoise keeps walking slowly. He doesn’t stop. He passes the Hare while the Hare is sleeping.
When the Hare wakes up, he looks around and doesn’t see the Tortoise. “Oh no! I must hurry,” he says.
The Hare runs as fast as he can. But when he reaches the finish line, the Tortoise is already there!
The Tortoise smiles and says, “Slow and steady wins the race!”
The Hare feels sad, but he learns a lesson: “Don’t stop until the race is finished.”
